    May 24, 2013 – May 26, 2013

Travel and tourism has emerged as one of the world's most centralized and competitive industries, and hardly any other economic sector illustrates so clearly the global reach of transnational corporations.

Tourism is one of the fastest growing sectors of the global economy and developing countries are attempting to cash in on this expanding industry in an attempt to boost foreign investment and financial reserves.

However this industry can result in serious environmental and social problems. While many tourism-related companies may have scrapped or postponed potentially harmful projects, one needs to acknowledge that the public and private investments in environmental protection are also not enough. Moreover, there have been warnings of social vices related to tourism.

The conference aims to bring together researchers, policy makers, tourism industry representatives, and all interested academia to discuss issues related and put forward by the development of tourism, its challenges, its potential advantages and disadvantages, ad so on.
